The Smith Waite or Rider Waite Tarot Deck
This is the deck I teach with, and for good reason. The Smith Waite is the classic. Its imagery is the foundation that most modern Tarot decks are built on, so once you know these cards, you can pick up almost any deck and read with it quite comfortably.
The artwork is by Pamela Colman Smith, created in 1909, and her name finally sits on the box where it belongs. Every card, including all 56 Minor Arcana, is fully illustrated with scenes full of story and symbol. That makes it beautifully easy to read intuitively, even when you're just starting out.
If you're joining one of my Tarot courses, or you simply want a deck you'll never outgrow, start here.
